A tourism model for the traditional fish-trap weaving craft village in Tat Vien hamlet, Tan Hung commune, Hung Yen Province

Tat Vien hamlet’s traditional fish-trap weaving village has maintained large-scale production while preserving valuable local cultural traditions. This study develops a craft village tourism model combining traditional craft preservation, local cultural promotion, and sustainable livelihood creation. Secondary data, household surveys, descriptive statistics, comparative analysis, and value-added indicators were employed to assess the model. The results indicate positive economic outcomes from fish-trap production and tourism activities, together with improved community awareness of cultural preservation. Experiential activities include weaving demonstrations, traditional fishing practices, and photography with handicraft products. However, the model remains limited in scale, digital communication, tourism services, and product diversification. The findings provide a practical basis for expanding craft village tourism and replicating community-based tourism models associated with traditional cultural preservation in Hung Yen province.
