Ensuring the rights of part-time working students: Evidence from Nghe An province

This study examines the legal framework and current practices surrounding the protection of part-time working students’ rights, drawing on a survey of 284 students enrolled at educational institutions in Nghe An province. The findings reveal that the majority of students are employed in the service sector, typically under flexible working arrangements. Nevertheless, significant shortcomings persist, including the absence of formally concluded labor contracts, a lack of wage transparency, and limited mechanisms for safeguarding students’ rights. In light of these findings, the article advances several policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the protection of part-time working students in the forthcoming period.
