Cybercrime in comparative criminal law: Lessons and implications for Vietnam

Amid globalization and the rapid advancement of information technology, the Internet has become essential infrastructure while simultaneously intensifying risks to security and public order, particularly in the form of cybercrime. Characterized by its transnational scope, anonymity, and rapid evolution, cybercrime presents substantial challenges to contemporary criminal law systems, including that of Vietnam. In response to the growing imperative to modernize legal frameworks in the digital age, this study examines criminal law provisions on cybercrime through a comparative analysis of the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and relevant international standards. The findings provide a comprehensive perspective on regulatory approaches and contribute to a deeper understanding of legal mechanisms for strengthening cybercrime prevention, enforcement, and cybersecurity protection in Vietnam.
