Increasing the D-Limonene content in pomelo essential oil by using the vacuum fractional distillation

Abstract

In this study, the vacuum fractional distillation is used to obtain a fraction rich in D-Limonene in pomelo essential oil. Conditions affecting the fractional distillation of pomelo essential oil such as pressure, stove capacity and distillation column height are examined. The study’s results show that the D-Limonene content increases from 67.92% to 92.3% when the extraction is done with the power of 90W power, vacuum pressure of 500mmHg and distillation column of 300mm.
