A study on the production of multi-compatible color pastes for the leather industry in Vietnam

Abstract

Paints for the tanning industry have to meet different technical requirements in terms of elasticity, durability, etc. Vietnam has produced many paint products but the leather industry are still depending on imported paints. To master the production technology of multi-compatible color pastes for the leather industry, this study explores the production of multi-compatible color pastes to meet the requirements of leather surface finishing process with the conditions of Vietnam. Two types of color pastes are tested in this study, including water-based paste and oil-based paste. The study’s results show that the water-based paint are better, safer and more applicable than the oil-based paint.
