Discussing the Concept of Creating Jobs for People with Disabilities in Vietnam

In Vietnam, the number of disabled workers accounts for a quite large proportion of the workforce. According the National Committee for Persons with Disabilities of Vietnam, at the begining of 2018, Vietnam had about eight million disabled people aged 5 years and older, equalling to 7.8 percent of the total country’s population. Causes of disability are congenital, genetic, traffic accidents, labor accidents, war-related injuries, environmental pollution, climate change, natural disasters, etc. The number of disabled people in Vietnam is forecasted to increase in the coming time. The majority of people with disabilities of working age live in rural areas and their works are mainly to help their families in agricultural, forestry and fishing activities with low and unstable incomes. This paper is to clarify the concept of creating jobs for people with disabilities. This pape is expected to help state management agencies better research and promulgateemploymentpoliciesforpeoplewithdisabilities.
