Expanding the type of cooperative members in the Draft of Law on Cooperatives (amended)

Abstract
Although cooperatives in Vietnam have greatly contributed to the country’s socio-economic growth, the development of cooperatives has not yet been commensurate with expectations. One of the reasons hindering the development of cooperatives in Vietnam is that the Law on Cooperatives 2012 does not have provisions on types of of associate members in cooperatives. Currently, the Draft of Law on Cooperatives (amended) has provisions on types of of associate members in cooperatives. This paper discusses some legal issues in order to complete provisions on associate members in cooperatives in Vietnam.
