Votes of confidence or no-confidence in some countries and lessons learnt for Vietnam

A vote of confidence or no-confidence is an activity carried out in some countries around the world in order to raise a confidence issue regarding a certain move that the Government wants to obtain from the Parliament or to express the Parliament's disagreement with the Government's moves, bills or policies. In Vietnam, taking votes of confidence or no-confidence is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Assembly’s supervision function. This paper presents some examples from the constitutions of some countries, thereby drawing some lessons leanrts about votes of confidence or no-confidence in Vietnam.
