Analyzing the consumer behavior and trends in consumption of fast food in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province

Abstract

This study analyzes the consumer behavior and trends in consumption of fast food in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province. By using the convenient sampling method, this study collects data from 173 consumers in 07 wards of Long Xuyen city. This study finds out that consumers tend to choose local traditional fastfood stores instead of foreign-owned ones. The frequency of consumers visiting fastfood store is also at a high level. The higher the customer's income is, the higher the frequency of them using fastfood. The study’s results show that there is no relationship between the frequency of fastfood consumption and other factors such as gender, income, marital status, and occupation. In addition, there is no relationship between the tendency to choose fastfood stores (traditional and foreign-owned ones) and the demographic characteristics of consumers.
