Green projects and green bonds have opened up new capital mobilization channels for long-term infrastructure and renewable energy investment projects in Vietnam. This paper analyzes: (i) experience in enforcing legal regulations on green bonds in some countries; (ii) the current legal framework governing green bonds under the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and related legal documents; and (iii) solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementing legal regulations on green bonds under the Law on Environmental Protection 2020. The analyses and recommendations are presented with the aim of improving Vietnam's legal framework on green bonds, thereby raising the awareness of businesses and investors regarding sustainable development and environmental protection.
