Determining the Optimum Fe²⁺:H₂O₂ Ratio of Fenton System in the Treatment of Dyeing Textile Wastewater
Published: July 29, 2026
Abstract
This study determined the optimum molar ratio of Fe²⁺:H₂O₂ in the Fenton system for treating dyeing textile wastewater.
The results showed that the optimum Fe²⁺:H₂O₂ molar ratio ranged from 0.7:10 to 1:10 when the dyeing textile wastewater collected after the Aerotank system and settling tank had a color value ranging from 150 to 250 Pt-Co.
For biologically treated dyeing textile wastewater containing residual activated sludge and exhibiting a color value of up to 481 Pt-Co, the optimum molar ratio increased to 0.4:10 under the same optimal pH of approximately 3.0.
These findings provide useful information for optimizing the Fenton oxidation process to improve color removal efficiency in dyeing textile wastewater treatment.
