Abstract
In recent years, the proportion of individuals receiving inheritances has risen significantly, exacerbating wealth inequality across generations due to the concentration of accumulated assets. Concurrently, the COVID-19 crisis has intensified the need for governments to increase tax revenues. However, public awareness and acceptance of inheritance tax remain low, often met with resistance. This study examines the shortcomings in the current legal framework governing inheritance income under the Law on Personal Income Tax. Drawing on comparative insights from international legal systems, it proposes amendments aimed at promoting fairness in income taxation and aligning public and state interests.
