Navigating Vietnam amid growing disputes over trade defense measures

Abstract
In recent years, disputes within the World Trade Organization (WTO)’s framework concerning the application of trade defense measures have significantly increased. Developing countries, including Vietnam, are increasingly employing trade remedies to safeguard their domestic industries, which has led to their involvement as respondents in related disputes. This trend underscores the urgent need for Vietnam's trade regulatory authorities to develop a robust framework and strengthen their capacity to manage international trade disputes effectively. Ensuring that Vietnam’s trade defense measures align with WTO regulations is crucial to minimizing legal risks and fostering a stable trade environment.
