Đối với các doanh nghiệp, việc “xanh hóa” chuỗi cung ứng được xem như một phần trong chiến lược đầu tư xanh, giúp doanh nghiệp sử dụng hiệu quả nguồn lực sinh thái tự nhiên, thân thiện với môi trường, từ đó nâng cao khả năng cạnh tranh và hiệu quả kinh doanh. Hiện nay, tỷ lệ chi phí logistics so với GDP quốc gia của Việt Nam là 18% GDP, trong khi con số này ở các nước phát triển chỉ 9-14%. Chi phí logistics của Việt Nam vẫn còn khá cao so với các quốc gia khác trong khu vực như Trung Quốc, Thái Lan,… Do đó, chuyển đổi số là yêu cầu cần thiết để cắt giảm chi phí cũng như hướng doanh nghiệp đến phát triển bền vững. Nghiên cứu này sử dụng phương pháp nghiên cứu định tính, chủ yếu tổng hợp các công trình nghiên cứu trước đây của các nhà nghiên cứu trên thế giới cũng như tại Việt Nam chứng minh chuyển đổi số có nhiều ảnh hưởng đến thực hành logistics xanh của các doanh nghiệp logistics. Thông qua các số liệu đã được kiểm chứng, nghiên cứu sẽ chỉ ra thực trạng chuyển đổi số tại các doanh nghiệp logistics Việt Nam và đề xuất một số giải pháp.
