Diagnosis of diezen engine by method separate metal wear particles from used lubricant oil

Abstract

Ferrography is a type of wear particle analysis in used oil, through which the wear on frictionbearing components can be studied by analyzing the particles in the lubricating oil. It can be used to diagnose faults occurring in diesel engines. This paper publishes the results of the analysis and diagnosis of diesel engines using the method of separating metal wear particles from used lubricating oil. It concludes that the Ferrograph method is not only used to diagnose the wear condition of diesel engines but can also be applied to diagnose other lubricated systems such as hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and large turbines in power plants without needing to disassemble each component. Furthermore, this method can be extended to diagnose the operating condition of equipment lubricated with grease and other liquid lubricants.
