6. Discussing the Influence of Civil Law and Common Law on Legal Systems Around the World

Abstract
There are more than 239 countries with their own legal systems that regulate the relationships
of subjects within each country as well as are being governed by international law. These national
legal systems are mainly influenced by two major legal systems, namely the Civil law, also called
continental, and the Common law. This paper presents the development of these two major legal
system and their influence on legal systems of countries around the world.
