Current discussions on electronic voting from a constitutional law perspective: Recommendations for Vietnam

Abstract
Electronic voting (EV) has garnered significant political, social, and legal interest since 1990. Despite this, electronic elections have only been conducted in a few countries at national and local levels. While the number of countries adopting EV has decreased, the number of academic articles on the subject has increased over the past two years. This article analyzes the constitutional legitimacy of EV as discussed by global scholars from the perspective of constitutional law, and places EV within the framework of Vietnam’s legal system, particularly constitutional and electoral laws. It assesses the adequacy of EV in Vietnam and offers recommendations for its implementation.
