Abstract
Efforts to establish codes of conduct for multinational corporations (MNCs) have led to negotiations for the adoption of an "international code of conduct" for MNC activities. However, international legal regulations seem to remain at the recommendation level, lacking binding force. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations (UN) are two prominent organizations in the effort to build an international legal framework for
MNCs. Studying and clarifying international legal regulations governing the activities of MNCs will provide the most comprehensive view of this subject in international investment activities. This will help evaluate the role and the standard conduct of MNCs when engaging in investment activities in the current period.
