Corporate social responsibility and social capital of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam
Published: July 28, 2026
Abstract
Besides the efforts of businesses to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) as required by law, businesses themselves also carry out CSR activities based on their strategic development. Therefore, this study investigated whether there exists a relationship between regional social capital and the CSR of businesses. The results revealed that if a business has high social capital, its CSR implementation will be higher. Thus, in addition to the personal interests of shareholders or managers, there are factors from social capital that explain the CSR activities of businesses.
