The influence of competition on the stability of commercial banks in Vietnam

This study explored the impact of banking competition on the stability of commercial banks in Vietnam. Using data from 24 commercial banks from 2015 to 2022, the study employed the two-step System Generalized Method of Moments (S-GMM) regression method. The findings reveal a positive relationship between competition and bank stability, suggesting that increased competition enhances the stability of commercial banks in Vietnam. Based on these findings, several recommendations are proposed to assist regulatory authorities and commercial banks in maintaining the stability of the Vietnamese banking system
