The compliance of Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises with labor regulations and standards

Vietnam is one of the world's leading textile and garment exporters, with this sector making a substantial contribution to the country's total export turnover. However, Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises encounter numerous challenges when integrating into the global textile value chain. As a labor-intensive industry, it carries inherent risks and difficulties regarding compliance with labor regulations and other legal frameworks. Consequently, Vietnamese textile and garment businesses must strictly adhere to legal requirements and responsible business standards to capitalize on opportunities in the global market. This study analyzes the compliance of Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises with labor laws. Based on the findings, several recommendations are proposed to enhance labor standard compliance among Vietnamese companies, thereby ensuring operational safety, elevating brand reputation, and improving business performance as well as competitiveness in the international market.
