Business analysis and decision support: A case study using decision trees

Abstract

The rapid advancement of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly accelerated the growth of the digital economy. In this evolving landscape, business analysis and decision support systems have become increasingly critical tools for economic and business managers. Among various decision-making models employed in business analytics, such as optimization models, simulation models, and decision tree models, decision trees stand out for their simplicity, interpretability, and practical utility. This study introduces the concept of decision trees, highlights their advantages in data-driven decision-making, and proposes a structured process for applying decision tree models in business analysis and strategic decision support.
