Sports tourism - A new tourism development direction for Tri Ton district, An Giang province

Located on the southwestern border with a plain topography surrounded by the majestic Seven Mountain Range, the Tri Ton district of An Giang Province has unique natural conditions in the Mekong Delta region for developing sports tourism. The development of sports tourism in Tri Ton district would contribute to realizing An Giang province’s goal of diversifying tourism products. This study explored the potential of Tri Ton District’s sports tourism development and proposed some solutions to develop sports tourism in this district. These solutions include a sport tourism development plan in Tri Ton district for the period 2025–2030 based on Tri Ton district’s general socio-economic development plan with a vision toward 2025 and An Giang province’s tourism development strategy, promoting investment in infrastructure, especially infrastructure for tourism, with a focus on places near sporting events such as stadiums, racetracks, etc.
