Developing smart tourism using Internet of Things (IoT) applications

Abstract

In an era of rapid advances in information and communication technology, travelers increasingly rely on Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart tourism services to make travel more convenient. However, current IoT-based solutions still face certain limitations. This study highlights the importance of IoT in improving the design of smart tourism service systems and developing platforms for these services. Although smart tourism has attracted considerable research attention, the existing literature remains fragmented. The study therefore examines how IoT implementation may influence tourism development and help attract more visitors to the Mekong Delta.
