Abstract
This study examines the impact of leadership styles on employee performance in restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City. Using a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 300 employees working in various types of restaurants. Through exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM), the study identifies five key leadership-related factors influencing employee performance: transformational leadership, transactional leadership, laissez-faire leadership, leadership communication, and leadership support. The findings reveal that transformational leadership and leadership communication exert the strongest positive effects on employee performance, whereas laissez-faire leadership has a negative effect. Based on these findings, the study proposes several managerial recommendations to enhance employee performance through the development of effective leadership skills, transparent communication, and individualized employee support.
