Abstract
This study examines the current state of transport and logistics development in North Dong Nai amid rising freight demand. The findings indicate that freight transport in the region remains heavily dependent on road networks, leading to high logistics costs and mounting pressure on transport infrastructure. Drawing on the strategic advantages of the Dong Nai River, the study explores the development of inland waterway transport in combination with a multimodal transport model and the establishment of Tri An ICD to enhance regional logistics connectivity. The study highlights the role of inland waterway transport in restructuring the regional logistics system toward lower costs, reduced road congestion, and greener logistics development in Southeast Vietnam.
