Xã hội ngày càng phát triển cùng với sự gia tăng dân số trên toàn thế giới dẫn đến nhiều nguy cơ về khan hiếm nguồn tài nguyên thiên nhiên, biến đổi khí hậu và ô nhiễm môi trường. Hiện nay, các doanh nghiệp hướng đến xu hướng sản xuất và tiêu dùng bền vững, vừa gia tăng lợi ích kinh tế, vừa cải thiện bảo vệ môi trường. Bài báo này cung cấp một số khái niệm và nội dung về chi phí theo vòng đời sản phẩm, sản xuất và tiêu dùng bền vững thông qua tư duy vòng đời. Qua đó, bài nghiên cứu cũng đề cập đến một số tình huống cụ thể trên thế giới đã áp dụng thành công công cụ tiếp cận theo vòng đời sản phẩm để hướng đến sản xuất và tiêu dùng bền vững.
