The integration of environmental accounting into the Environmental Management System (EMS) in Vietnamese construction companies

Abstract

The integration of environmental accounting into the Environmental Management System (EMS) is considered a form of self-regulatory compliance with legal requirements and environmental regulations. This integration helps construction companies reduce environmental costs while developing green products and projects that align with current sustainable development trends in the construction industry. The study emphasizes the role of environmental accounting in continuously improving corporate policies and operational procedures through the integration of construction regulations, technical standards, scientific advancements, and other functional management activities into the EMS framework. The proposed approach contributes to strengthening environmental management practices in Vietnamese construction companies.
