Factors affecting the social responsibility disclosure of listed companies in Ho Chi Minh city

Abstract
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a broad concept that refers to community, environment, information transparency, accountability, business ethics and sustainable development (Feifei 2017). CSR is an evolving concept, which is how businesses combine social, economic, and environmental concerns in their decision-making process to benefit businesses, while creating social well-being and community development (Feifei 2017). This study is to identify and measure the factors affecting the level of CSR disclosure of listed companies in Ho Chi Minh City. The study analyzes 109 listed companies in Ho Chi Minh City. The study’s analysis process includes following steps: descriptive statistics of variables, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and tests to select a suitable estimation model and check the defects of the estimated model. The STATA 15 software is employed to analyze the panel data. There are four factors affecting the CSR disclosure of listed companies in Ho Chi Minh City, including: Enterprise size; Number of years of operation; Current ability to pay; and Auditing firm. The study proposes some policy recommendations for investors, state management agencies and managers to improve the social responsibility disclosure of listed companies in Ho Chi Minh City.
