57. Using the Internal Model Control to Develop the Speed Control System of Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors

Abstract

This study presents the speed control system of three-phase asynchronous motors using the internal model method (Internal Model Control-IMC). This system is based on the method to control the internal model for linear objects which was developed by M.Morari & E.Zafiriou in 1987. This method has a simple algorithm and it can be desinged easily. This study develops a speed control system to control the three-phase asynchronous motor which is a nonlinear object. This study aims to build a speed control system which well control the motor speed by using the internal model control. This study is expected to provide useful information to develop models for high-quality engine control systems. At the same time, it is also the basis for manufacturing motor speed controllers (inverters) for precision electric drive systems.
