Key accounting principles for joint arrangements under IFRS 11

Abstract

Joint arrangements under IFRS 11 play a critical role in the recognition and accounting of collaborative business activities between participating parties. Issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), IFRS 11 provides guidance on identifying, classifying, and accounting for joint arrangements, including joint ventures and joint operations. The standard aims to promote consistency in financial reporting and enhance the transparency and reliability of financial information related to joint activities. This study analyzes the core principles and requirements of IFRS 11, examines its practical application, and highlights the key differences between joint ventures and joint operations
